Your First Coverage Report

Go from a list of links to a polished client-ready deck. Takes about two minutes.

What You Need

Just your coverage links. News articles, blog posts, social media posts, broadcast clips — anything with a URL works.

Paste them all at once (one per line) or drag in a CSV file. PRCharter figures out the rest: screenshots, headlines, publication names, dates, sentiment, key quotes.

Tip: You don't need perfect URLs. PRCharter validates and normalizes each link automatically, handling redirects and paywalled content gracefully.

Paste Your Links

From the Dashboard, hit + New Report. You'll see a big text area — paste your URLs there.

As you paste, the counter at the bottom tells you how many valid URLs were detected. PRCharter also accepts bare domains (like techcrunch.com/article-slug) and auto-prepends https://.

Supported Formats

| Format | Example | |--------|---------| | Full URL | https://techcrunch.com/2024/article | | Bare domain | techcrunch.com/2024/article | | CSV file | Drag and drop a .csv with a URL column | | Bulk paste | One URL per line, any quantity |

Hit Generate

Click Generate Report and PRCharter takes over:

  1. Validates and fetches each URL
  2. Captures full-page screenshots
  3. Extracts metadata — publication, author, date, domain authority
  4. Runs AI analysis — sentiment, key quotes, executive summary
  5. Assembles everything into slides

The right template is auto-selected based on your content. A progress bar keeps you posted.

Warning: For large reports (30+ URLs), generation may take 1-2 minutes. Don't close the tab — the progress bar will keep you updated.

Review and Customize

Your report opens in the Editor. Every slide is editable — drag to reorder, toggle visibility, adjust text. The left panel lets you switch between Slides, Style, and Metrics views.

Most reports look great out of the box. But if a headline needs tweaking or you want to swap a screenshot, everything is right there.

Quick Editing Shortcuts

  • Double-click any text to edit inline
  • Drag handles on the left to reorder slides
  • Eye icon to toggle slide visibility
  • Style tab for global branding changes

Tips from the Field

  • 10-20 articles is the sweet spot. Enough to tell a compelling story without overwhelming the reader.
  • Mix your sources. National news + trade pubs + social creates a richer picture than 15 articles from the same outlet.
  • Don't wait for perfection. You can always add more coverage later (see the Adding Coverage guide).
  • Check the Executive Summary. It's AI-generated but always worth a quick review before sharing.
  • Preview before sharing. Use the Preview button to see exactly what your client sees.
